MOSD Secretary Mr. Jhankar Bahadur Bista expressing his opinion during NEPHA General Assembly
Nepal Public Health Associaltion (NEPHA), Sudurpashchim Pradesh first general assembly was held on 23rd Magh, 2076 (Feb 6, 2020). The opening ceremony of the program was held in chairmanship of NEPHA Sudurpashchim president Mr. Daya Krishna Pant, chief guest of the ceremony was Ministry of Social Development (MOSD) secretary Mr. Jhankar Bahadur Bista, special guest MOSD Health section chief Mr. Narendra Singh Karki, former Sr. DPHO Mr. Bal Bahadur Mahat & NEPHA central committee Advisor Mr. Pratik Khanal, guests from different health professionals association, all 9 health office chief of Sudurpashchim & representatives from different governmental & non-governmental organizations. The opening session was anchored by NEPHA Sub-Secretary Mr. Ashok Kumar Joshi, welcome speech & Objective was given by Vice-President Mrs. Rakshya Giri. Expressing opinion in the formal session by guest, special guest and chief guest wishes for the success of general assembly, suggested NEPHA for doing more visible activities & committed support from their side.
In the second session (Banda Satra), NEPHA Sudurpashchim Secretary Mr. Shiv Raj Sunar presented the achievements, activities of one year period. Financial status was presented by Treasurer Mrs. Janaki Prajuli Mishra. Both the report was printed & provided to all participants. Discussions & Interactions was held among all participants about NEPHA one year report. All participants appreciated NEPHA one year activities as office set, website development, lobby/advocacy for BPH/MPH with Geta Medical College, advocacy with MOSD for public health rights/involvement & presence of NEPHA in different forums. Public Health Professionals in general assembly suggested NEPHA for involvement of all Public Health, increasing membership, support MOSD/PHD in public health policy formulation, advocacy on health rights, conduction of capacity building training/workshops, making NEPHA a common platform to all public health professionals and visibility of NEPHA.
